Volunteers wanted for Canterbury Anifest 2012
Canterbury Anifest 2012 is approaching again, and this year jam packed with talks you don’t want to miss.
We need people excited about being part of the South East’s only annual animation festival, and committed to making it a great day for all.
You don’t need to be an animation student, or a film enthusiast to apply, you just need to be someone who ‘gets’ the magic that is animation, and can help provide a superb experience for festival attendees.
What follows is a detailed description of the role as an Anifest volunteer. Have a read and see what’s in store:
Canterbury Anifest is a great community event that invites people of all ages to come and experience the magic of animation; allowing them to get involved with something out of the ordinary. With its range of workshops, young people’s awards and family-friendly events, it has something for everyone. Anifest also caters for specialists and those in the industry, featuring national and international awards, and guest speakers from some of the biggest names in animation.
This year’s festival promises to build upon last year’s success, with a superb line up.
To ensure the safety and comfort of the public and to assist in the running of a successful festival.
Your Key Responsibilities:
During promotional events leading up to the Festival:
Handing out leaflets and promotional material
To promote any workshop activities that are taking place that day in order to promote the Festival
During the Festival:
To assist in providing information to the audience
To guide the audience around the event space
To sell and collect tickets at the door
To assist in the set up and dismantling of the event space
To assist any VIP guests or event speakers to whom you may be assigned
If necessary to provide assistance and support to the emergency services in the event of a major incident
Be active in ensuring the health and wellbeing of all guests
To report any anti-social behavior, illegal activity or perceived dangers to the line manager
Any other activities that support your line manager in the successful running of the event
As a volunteer at Canterbury Anifest 2012, you will be considered a representative of the festival to the wider community. This means we ask that all volunteers look clean and tidy, and maintain a high level of courtesy and respect. You will be provided with a festival t-shirt on the day, and it would be great if smart dark jeans could be worn.
For insurance purposes, all volunteers must be 18+ years.
For all your hard work, we will provide you with:
A ticket to see at least one event during the days you volunteer. We will do our best but cannot promise that all preferences will be able to be met.
A meal and drink during your shift.
Volunteers will also receive up to £15.00 towards their travel costs. Receipts must be provided.
