Wallace and Gromit come to Canterbury!
We are proud to welcome Wallace and Gromit to the South East for the very first time. Aardman Animations will be giving an insight into the making of Britain’s most loved animated character. The session includes clips and a behind the scenes presentation from a member of the production crew, plus a chance to see your favourite characters up close!

The Gruffalo
Canterbury Anifest is proud to present a special one off screening of the BBC’s hit show The Gruffalo. This beautiful animation retells the famous children’s book written by Julia Donaldson and has a voice cast including James Corden, Helena Bonham Carter and John Hurt.

Children of Small Films
Canterbury Anifest will be celebrating the work of Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin through the voices of their children. Canterbury Anifest has invited Dan Postgate, Stephen Postgate, Charlotte Firmin and Emily Firmin to share their memories of growing up around their fathers animations including Bagpuss and the Clangers. The session will be introduced by Children television director Martin Goodsmith.

An evening with Phill Jupitus
We are proud to welcome one of the biggest names in British comedy, Phill Jupitus, to headline this year’s Anifest. The evening, which Phill describes as a ‘night in with the telly’ will be a one off chance to see Phill on stage talking about his favourite Looney Tunes.
Phill will be accompanied by fellow British comic Emma Kennedy. Emma is a writer, actress and author of bestseller The Tent, the Bucket and Me; the story of her family’s disastrous attempts to go on holiday in the 1970′s. She also writes the Wilma Tenderfoot crime series for children and was once the runner up World Conker Champion. She would have won but was let down in the final by a soft nut. She fancies Bugs Bunny. REALLY badly.
During the set which Phill has designed especially for Anifest, the two will talk about the visual jokes, dialogue and performances which make these cartoons so funny.
